Roll up and unroll your active windows, in place of minimizing them.
Doughnut is a small and simple utility that works to "roll up" the windows that are open. In other words, in place of minimizing them to the taskbar (which, when you have many open, you don't know what's what) you can right click on the title bar of the window in question, so that only that title bar remains visible until you right click on it again. Thus, by rolling up and unrolling windows you won't lose track of what's what. Doughnut also lets you maximize both vertically (double click) or horizontally (Shift + click).
